The Centre defines itself as an effective reference point possessing the ability to transfer academic knowledge and resources for the benefit of the business community of the Eastern Townships.

A non-profit organization and a private sector initiative

Mr. Louis Lagassé (Groupe Lagassé) and Mr. John W. Dobson (The John Dobson Foundation) co-founded the Dobson-Lagassé Entrepreneurship Centre in 1998.  The Centre, located on the campus of Bishop’s University, was created to nurture local economic development by reuniting the French and English cultures of the historical Eastern Townships.

Furthermore, the Center participates and promotes on-campus entrepreneurship education and  is affiliated to the Williams School of Business of Bishop’s University for the teaching of accredited entrepreneurship courses.

The Centre also provides business training for managers and business owners through a range of tailored programs and services supporting the local entrepreneurial community including:

  • Training (luncheon, conference-breakfasts, expert clinics)
  • Thematic conferences
  • Networking events (Speedcoaching)
