The Centre has a two-fold mission:
1. Promoting and encouraging the education and practice of entrepreneurship among students of Bishop's University and some students of the Université de Sherbrooke.
2. Promoting entrepreneurship in the Eastern Townships business community by leveraging the strengths of both French and English cultures of Québec.
The Centre is involved in regional entrepreneurial activities in collaboration with other local development organizations and it offers complementary services to entrepreneurs in order to support the development and growth of small and medium size businesses in the Eastern Townships.
Since its inception, the Centre is committed to meet the needs of entrepreneurs (our compass) and to provide them with concrete and accessible assistance in both official languages.
The main objectives of the Centre are stated below:
· Contribute to improve the knowledge of SME managers;
· Bridge the gaps between the business community and academe; and
· Foster the regional economy and ultimately increase the collective wealth of the Eastern Townships.
The Centre relies on three groups to create a winning synergy:
· A network of entrepreneurs who currently manage their own venture;
· A group of experienced mentors who voluntarily share their business expertise and experiences; and
· The students of Bishop’s University who, through student entrepreneurship projects, work with entrepreneurs on real-life issues faced by these businesses.
